headers now or save for alum DS first?

i have a chance to get some headers for my V6 (SS JBA shorties OR SS Pypes) in about a month or so and i was contemplating on what i should get first; Headers or DS. i'm interested in the 3.5" DS from shaftmasters but it isalmost a few hundred bucks more than the SS shorty headers and i will need to wait much longer to gather the funds for it. I WILL have both eventually and I am quite aware that the performance boost from either is not significant although it does exist. i want headers mainly for sound and the DS mainly for drive quality. the extra power from either is just a bonus. I usually figure out what i want for my car on my own but this choice has been a tough one.

FEEDBACK ENCOURAGED :).....thanks.

if it were between l/t headers and driveshaft, i would say headers first...due to the shorty's having lower performance gains that l/t's, i would say go D/S first...or save up and get the L/T's

just my .02

not interested in the LT's only cuz my car is only for the streets. dont want to eliminate the CATS. thanks for the opinion.

You can have LTs with cats...

Yep, long tubes and California just don't mix......

I don't have the driveshaft yet, some day, but I love the JBA shortys on my GT. You may want to consider a ceramic coated finish, however, as I have heard some horror stories about SS discoloring pretty bad. And, the ceramic coating helps disipate the engine heat as well.....

Does the DS really make that much of a difference? Seems like a lot of money for just a DS, but if it works I may consider this too. Looking forward to more info on this...

i am ordering the driveshaft this weekend and installing next week so i'll let you know what i think...most people on here say it was a great mod and you can actually feel the power.

my only concern is going dynotech through brenspeed or spydershaft (which is $200 cheaper)...thats why i'm waiting till this weekend to order so i can get some more feedback

its not cheap but its a VERY important part of the drivetrain and even though many have stated the performance increase (mainly acceleration) is not big, the ride quality/smoothness and the piece of mind that the DS will not fail is worth the cost.
