My car has zero "rattles". A lot of vibration from the longtubes/stiff engine mounts (which iskinda nice!)and some other odd sounds coming from the rear (all my fault no doubt from the torture I've put this car thru)but no "rattles" - yet.

It's the shifter. I have hurst and have the same problem. Just took it out and I'm happy. I love the look and the stock shifter feels ridiculously long but it nice not to have that high rpm rattle.

BTW that console TSB is on the shift boot. Mine's actually on order b/c i have excessive gear noise

One last thing.........being driven to drink isnt totally a bad thing hahaha

my factory hurst looks nice but it rattles so bad also. im really thinking of going to that other one i keep hearing about, MGW i think? im going to do a little research on it first, and hopefully that eliminates the problem, im going to be somewhat mad if i spend that money and find out its not the shifter and a link or something like that

I have a Hurst Competition shifter and it also started rattling about a month ago (about 1 year old now). I used hex bolts, lock washers, and Loctite on my handle so, it's definitely not that. I can't really figure it out.

Also, I've noticed that when I'm shifting into 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, sometimes I get a small "click" noise after I let the clutch out the whole way. Like there's some slack or extra play somewhere in the shifter assembly. I'm going to get under the car this weekend and make sure everything is tight. My shifts do not seem to be as crisp as they once were when it was installed.

I really like the look, feel, and name branding of the Hurst shifter, so I'm not interested in switching to MGW. I may just have to live with the noise, as long as it's not doing any harm.
