don't do it. The guy that owned my previous car did this and the seats looked great for a few weak. After that, the materail gets really dull and rough and nothing will bring the shine back. After a few more months, the material starts to crack. I would not recommend doing this at all.

Can you post some pics ? Or you already changed the seat covers ? I'll take your word for it, but I would like to see the end product.. you know, the messed up part. Thx

I assume you'd have to take your seat covers off when dying them... so might as well just replace them with custom ones that won't look like cr@p after a few weeks.

ok, ok You guys changed my mind.. I guess I'll go to a shop and get that middle piece replaced with red leather on all the seats. Anyone did this ? How much am i looking at ? If it's off the wall I might as well just save up and buy some catskinz

The seats are coated with a protective layer.

This is what makes dying the seats a PIA.
Also weaing white clothes after dying is a no-no.

Thanks for the compliments. I don't have pictures of the seats. It ws a '76 ElDorado convertible and I sold it 4 years ago. I refinished the car but never redid the seats and that always bothered me. Glad to hear you changed your mind. If you really want that look, you can either get custom seat covers or have an uphostery shop swap out the center section. I saw someone on another forum that did that. She had a red interior and changed the center section to black. It looke nice.
