What is the difference between the trufiber hoods? I'm looking at like 3 different hoods that are priced different but look the EXACT same.
GT-S RAM

GT-S III RAM

and of course... the Venom.

Anyone know what the difference is? To me I'm seeing the same hood in all 3.
And another thing I just saw the Mach 1 hood and holy good golden f#ck! I am torn between the venom look and the mach 1.

Does the ram air+ heat extraction combo give that much of a HP difference?
Is it a big difference over just the heat extraction?
I'm throwing a black spoiler and Astra Hammonds rear louvers on sometime next week. Still deciding if I want to put black side louvers on.

I can tell you one thing for sure... the venom is NOT the exact same as the GTS or GTS III. The venom seems to be primarily built for the GT500 fascia (as seen on mellow's car in that picture) and has a bit of a lift where the grill meets the hood. Compare the GTS or GTS III side-by-side with the venom, look at the area where the grill meets the hood and you'll see the difference. The venom is definitely the most aggressive of them all IMHO, but I don't think you can use it without a GT500 front though!

I see it now. Just took a few hard stares. I love the gts3 look but I think way too many people have that hood and I want to do something a lil different.

I understand your concern about too many poeople having this hood, but you are only really thinking about a handful of guys on the forums, scattered around the WORLD, that have that hood. They dont necessarily have your car color, rims, grill, etc............ Just ask yourself this when trying to pull the trigger. How many people do you see with that hood, or even a modded GT, on a daily basis when driving around? Im sure hardly any. Living in LA, ca capital of the world, I only see these cars with their hoods during meets and cruises, usually arranged on these forums. But they all look hot in their own ways. Just a thought.

Im not sure if anyone has actually measured a HP difference, but it does feel more responsive as the colder air gets delivered right to the intake.
Is it a big difference over just the heat extraction?
The extractors just cool the engine down much quicker and that is a blessing when you have a Supercharger/Turbo. The ram air just brings air to the intake. Like I said, I dont think anything has been documented, because its nominal at best, but it definitely doesnt hurt the car.
PM me if you need more info.

i agree there are quite a few GTS2-3 hoods on the forum now, but like mellow stated, they are many fascia combos and what not that make them unique. There are only so many ways that you can do a KR/SS hood to make it different from the rest. Its a great design and looks good

Are there any problems associated with the heat extractors? It rains constantly in my area and when it rains it's a good 2, 3 inches over night. So having all that water dumping onto the engine won't hurt it at all, correct?
