Default Looking for pictures of a 255/50/17 or a 275/50/17 tires on car....

I'm looking to get new back tires for my car, and i'm interested in 255/50/17's and 275/50/17's for the factory 2005 mustang GT rims. I'm running the stock rears at the moment, but want a wider width tread, so it gives it that nice look, and either the same or larger diamater tires. So does anybody run these? Have any close up pictures? I'm worried that 275's will buldge out to much, so i want to see how they look. If i don't go with 275's i think i'm going to go with Nitto's 255/50/17, that will give me the same diameter wheels, but 20mm wider tread, so it should look a bit nicer from the rear. Any pics would be great of both of these, thanks. Jord

These are the wheels i'm running, stock, sorry the one picture is old thats when i just bought the car and got her home.

05Retro is indeed running the Falken 275/50R17 out back, and I would love to know how they perform in wet weather. My Nitto NT450 in 275/50R17 in the back wear well, but they're not the best wet weather tire. Here's another pic of them:

Regarding the M&H Racemaster DR's, I have a pair of them in 275/50R17 mounted on replica 17x9" Bullitts, but they would fit on the stock Bullitts. I ran them on the street all last summer without any problems, but I avoided highway speeds in the rain. The DR's will pick up road debris in the soft compound (like safety glass pieces), but I'm still running them at the track this season, so they've lasted pretty good. I'll buy 325's next time around for my 9" wide rims.

In a year or two when I get tires I'll probably end up getting the M&H if there aren't any Nitto 555 available in 275/50. I only put about 4000-5000 miles a year on the Ford so no big deal if they only last a year or two. I also don't take the car in rain either. That's what the old civic is for.

If you go to Nitto's site the 450 rates pretty low on traction. That, and having read some bad comments on the web, have kept me from being real interested in them. I want a real performance street tire in that size.

I was sold on the 275/50/17 idea when I seen 05Retro's car. I bought the same Falkens. The few times I've been caught in rain here in MI, recently, they gripped pretty good. They have great dry traction too.

I'm running on a 17x9. Surprisingly to me, it looks like it bulges over more than if it were on a 17x8 rim. Plus with roush springs in the back this tire eats up that fugly fender gap in the rear.

Falken Tire created the Ziex S/TZ specifically for light trucks and SUVs.
