Default Shaker 500 w/ Aftermarket Amp??

I went with a new system (amp, speakers, subs) but wanted to keep the Shaker 500 headunit. The shop is struggling to integrate the Shaker 500 head unit with my aftermarket amp. At this point, it is working but there is something wrong and I don't have a "stereo" sound. Also, they mentioned they could not find the factory amps. Has anyone gone down this road and do you have any tips for me. Thanks.

There is no external amp with the shaker 500. It is built into the head unit.
The outputs are also at 8ohm dropping to 4 ohm for the front speakers / sub combo as far as I understand it. (have taken my doors off yet. Been building my system for weeks and installing for two)

No offense, but with all the new system why not go with a new head unit? Assuming you have already dropped some cash into the system. You are likely paying A LOT more for the shop to play with it vs just having them replace it.
Also a new headunit would give you low level outputs that would likely sound much better with your amp, vs the high level ones they are using.

What kind of setup are you using?

Using two woofers in the front doors or just one of the locations?
Which one?

As long as we are on the subject, anyone know if there is a harness adaptor out yet to use the subs for the Shaker1000 and all the stock wiring with an aftermarket head unit?

Dont know about the Shaker 1000. Assuming the sub has an external amp? Wiring diagram for the factory then "customizing" a standard kit may work.

Amp for the subs is external, heard it is behind the driver side kick panel. Have not looked yet. Just trying to get all my crap in a row before I start tearing it apart and installing the DDX7015 I picked up. Sure would be convenient to be able to use the factory wiring and sub amps. At least for now until I get over the price of head unit!

NICE HEADUNIT!!
Someday maybe

Have Alpine 9831
Front doors are getting 5.25 in MB Quart components and 6.75 MB Quart Mid Bass
MB Quart coaxials in back
Eclipse 12 in sub in custom box
All happily running off an Eclipse PA5532
Now that is sticker shock !!! Tax return put to good use !!

Well I already have buyers remorse. I now wish I would have gotten the Eclipse AVX2494. But I am sure I will get over it.

Thanks for the feedback Steven. I heard back from the shop and they did some research on this. The head unit has both an internal amp and crossovers, which is causing the problem trying to integrate with my aftermarket amp. They determined they need a special converter, which has been ordered.

I will eventually upgrade the headunit, but like having a 5 disc in dash, as well as the speed/volume control, etc.

I went all JL as follows:

ZR653 components
450/4 amp (factory rear speakers running off deck for now)
2-10w0's

Next phase is:

Headunit
500/1 amp (for subs)
JL 5x7's for rear panel (which will then run off 450/4 amp)

Thought i'd give everyone an idea of what i'm putting in my new GT:

kenwood DDX7015 head Unit
Kenwood KNA-DN4100 Navigation System
Kicker Solo-Baric 04S12L7 12" Sub in a custom made box
Audiobahn A800T amp to power the sub
Audiobahn A4004T amp to power the speakers
Pioneer TS-A6870R 3-way speakers for the doors
Pioneer TS-G6840R 2-way speakers for the rear deck (Those speakers only put out bass)

found all that stuff online for a price of $2,515.66 including shipping and handling.
