RE: oop!! crashed my baby
If they were the real SVT rims I would have been very surprised.
What kind of tires were you running? All season, summer or drags?
Seen lots of accidents involving sudden appearance of water and smashed up Mustangs, most are running race -type tires which don't usually work well in water.

RE: oop!! crashed my baby
I have the NT 555s and when I picked up my car and was driving it back home it started to rain like crazy. I have never felt as uncomfortable the front end started feeling mushy and I slowed it down to 55 and still was having butt pucker. But guess they are not made for the rain, I think I may switch to some other itres when these wear out. Which probably wont be to long...

Some tires are better than others of course but Yes, the wider they are the worse they are in Rain.
The rain performance of a tire is essentially down to how efficiently that tire can scoop up the water and throw it out the sides as the contact areas of the tire/road meet. The wider the tire the more distance the water [in the middle] has to rush along the tread valleys. At some speed the water just does not have the time get out and that's the critical point at whichaquaplaning starts because then the water pushes out the valleys and you're driving on a cushion of H20 !!
So the wider the tread, the shallower the tread and to a large extent, the design of the tread pattern are all factors in the tires ability to shift water..

KDW2's are great in the rain. Only have experience with the 255/45/18's, though. I haven't ran my 555's too much in the rain, so haven't paid attention to traction with those.

At least you were not hurt. I have only driven my 555's in the rain once.......and that was the day that I got them installed.....either way I try to keep the stang out of the rain
