Yeah reverse doesnt have syncro's. If you try to get it into reverse and it doesnt go, move the shifter back into neutral and let out the clutch pedal for a second. Then push the clutch back in and go for reverse. It should slide in every time.

Hmmm...lets think about this guys.....
You've pulled to a stop, clutch in, the main shaft should stop turning which means everything in the trans has stopped turning but can't get it into reverse...no synros. Seems to me that the clutch isn't disengaging completely so even though nothing is turning theres a bind or if in neutral the main shaft isstill turning creating a problem getting into reverse. This problem has going on long before hydraulic slave cylinders but I would guess the clutch isn't completely disengaging.
