Yes, you can ask for synthetic. It will cost ya but, they will throw the belt buckle scratches on your right front fender flare in for free.

I don't want to go to dealer service for anything unless it's ABSOLUTELY necessary and the airbag recall isn't on the list imho. In my situation the airbag issue just isn't an issue.

Any harm in just blowing it off until when/ifI ever get rid of the car?

The job of a Service Manager has nothing to do with ensuring the customer's satisfaction. His job is to maximize revenue to the dealership, which is why they lay the worst possible scenario out when it comes to any service procedure, make it as complex as possible to ensure maximum tech time, so you are prepared when they charge you out the @ss for something that probably was never needed to begin with.

Meh, yes and no. The airbag recall is something like "If a 95th percentile female is sitting in the passenger seat under a cetain height with the seat forward, during an impact the airbag could fail to deploy and she could be killed" or some other such crap.

So, unless you like men, or fat women, I'd get it fixed. Otherwise, you could be found personally liable in the event of an accident (or so the recall notice stated, more or less).

Some of us are not fortunate enough to have that option.. If I reset back to a factory tune, my car would puke, ****, and then explode. LOL

Don't tunes program your ECM? What's the diff between that and the PCM? I'm conf00sed.
ECM == PCM

Engine Control Module, Powertrain Control Module; they're both the same thing.
