305/45 Rear Tire help.. lowered.. NEED YOUR THOUGHTS
hey guys..
right now i have 295/45/18's out back (nitto 555's)
had them for about a year and month or two / 18,000 miles.. and they are about done.. im gunna be able to get about 5k more out of them and thats about it..
so i was just starting to plan out what im going with next.. i got some prices from Discount Tire.. heres what they came up with..
305/45/18 555R (drag radial)- $598 out the door.. (might get labour cut on all these bc i used to work there..)
the diference in that tire vs. the 295.. about 1/2 inch wider.. and a smudge taller..
295/45/18 555 (regular street tire) - approx. $420ish.. (guessing bc i didn thave him quote me on this.. bc its what i have now and wanted to go a bit wider..
now heres my problem.. i am going to be lowering it soon.. most likely just the eibach pro kit.. and i know ppl fit the 295/45's witht he pro kit all day with no problems.. but what about the 305/45's? i was under there today and saw i have about 3/4 of an inch betweent the insde of the tire and the shock mount or whatever it is there.. so i think i would be alright.. but anyone with experience of this size and with the pro kit?
and also.. should i just go with what i have now (295/45 street tire) and do the sport lines and get an alignment?..
might be buying the pro kit here in a few weeks.. so i wanna figure this all out..
and about tread wear on the DR's.. in january-march i should be on the market for a f150.. and wont be driving this nearly as much .. maybe 600 miles a month after i get the truck.. and thats when i plan on doing more performance mods to the stang, maybe a blower, and i will need some traction.. so thats what i kina wanna go with a DR..
any thoughts, pics.. etc.. i would really appreciate it

RE: 305/45 Rear Tire help.. lowered.. NEED YOUR THOUGHTS
I've seen people run that with no problem. I have the Pro Kit with 295/45/18 and have a good bit of room. If you do it, I would get the D-Specs and keep them firm, to minimize the possibility of rubbing, but with the rear end properly centered, it should be fine either way.

Well, I would put the D-Specs on the front as well. Actually, a firm rear end will help at the track. You want the rear firm and the front soft. That helps with weight transfer. I don't pull my front end as far as I did before the D-Specs, but I'm cutting better 60's.
