Androdz2, If the dealer sees your CAI installed, that is all they have to do. They can deny a warranty claim on any engine part. The dealer doesn't have to PROVE anything once they see it installed. You have to Prove that it did not cause the problem.
The law says it's the other way around. The reality is, you're both going to have to prove your side if it goes to court. Popping the hood and looking at a CAI isn't going to count as proof. They're going to want some real evidence that the aftermarket part caused the warrantied part to fail. What some douchebag mechanic at the dealer says is proof and what FoMoCo is willing to walk into court and claim is proof might be two different things as well.
Exactly... good to hear other people educated in the matter.

And no running full synthethic from the 1st change is anything but good. It is really bad actually piston rings need to sit and seal perfectly in the piston. REgular oil helps that runnign pure synthethic does. Actually the time frame for switching to synthethic is around 3k+ miles. Obviously thats 3-4 oil changes afterwards. For example I changed my oil at 500 miles, 1000 miles, 2000 miles and then at 3k i switch to full synthetics. First two oil changes are very important because of the amount of metal mush that is released while the engine is in break in. Dont think so? When you buy a car change the oil at 500 miles put it in a bucket and get a big magnet and see what you find. Not only that open the oil filter and see for yourself

Actually, you are about 10-15 years in the past on this thinking. Our engines can go full synthetic from day one with the close tollerance now days. I remember 10 years ago or so that Vettes came from the factory with M1. I change all my new cars at 500 miles not because the rings need to seat, but the get the trash out. No need in going the expense of synthetic for just a flush.

I follow the same method, change at 500, then at 1000, another at 2k, then full-syn at 3k and WAS running at 5k the first two intervals. Then with this new signature series amsoil I ran out to 12k, something I've never done before in my life. I just wanted to see if it can make it out to 12k-15k like they say. They list 17k intervals as "severe" service and I've seenmany great UOA's with this oil out to that interval.

I've got ~25k miles on my car now, don't live in a dusty/sandy environmentand if I can get away with 10k-15k intervals with the oil still in good shape I'll do it. A lot of people are...

I currently run 10,000 miles between oil & filterchanges on both my Stang (using AMSOIL) and on my SUV (using Mobil1). I did the same oil change frequency on3 previous vehicles that I owned using M1 and sold them all with over 200,000 miles on each. None of them burned, used or leaked oil. Thelater was also true forfor all my vehicles in which I did the dino oil changes at 3,000 mile intervals.

I just ordered 6 quarts of redline 5W-20. I want to change the oil in September and run it until next May. After much consideration I decided to say screwit and stick with the 5W-20 for now.

One question. I'm assuming it's OK to let the oil sit until I put it in the car around the end of next month yes? I'm not sure what type of "shelf life" affects motor oils hence my question.

Also I'm going to pick up a motorcraft filter tonight from Walmart.

In their sealed containers, I don'tbelieve motor oil HAS a shelf life to speak of. I often buy oil in advance and store it prior to use. Even previously opened (as when you top off the crankcase and leave a 1/2 quart) it's good for a very long time. If not, you'd see "sell by..." or "use by..." date coding.

Thanks Nuke I knew you'd reply.

So how long until this redline 5w-20 blows up my engine?
