I have an automatic, and I know the advertised time was with a manual. But even though, that was probably under perfect conditions and a perfect driver. Maybe your way of calculating the time is different than the way they did it. It's the 1/4 mile ET that is the real measure.

The Roush exhaust doesn't get you any power gains. Get a CAI/Tune package from bamachips.com, believe me it would make a huge difference.

One of the car mag has gotten the stick down to a 4.9 0-60. I've gotten my stock GT to go faster then the adv 13.5 in the 1/4

Here's a couple of thing i see on why your not hitting a low 5 sec 0-60

1.) sounds like ur counting...at least get a stop watch.

2.) i dont know where u live, but its been hitting in the 90s in jersey, 90= no 0-60 in 5.xx

3.) try power braking

4.) if all else fails, buy stick.

Im buying a stop watch tomarrow, i'll let you know what im getting. my conditions will be....slow reaction time with stop watch, 100+ degree heat, no wind,1,250ft above sea altitude, hotslick roads, auto transmission, powerbraking, 18x9 255/45 tires, and windows will be up. check back tomarrow for results.

Nobody can time any car with a stop watch and be accurate to compare to any official timing device. People might tell you they are doing a time but unless they have gone through an electronic device at a track you will never know your exact time.

^ + 1 on that.... and you have mods...so you won't be a true representation of the stock 0-60 time....

I agree with you 100% with that, however a stop watch is a thousand times better then some one counting in their head. It at least gives you a ball park figure. I've never test my 0-60, but being that I've beating most 1/4 time in mags, Im sure I've hit 4.9 b4.

the answer:

you got a slow car from the factory. sorry, it happens.

car magazines get different times from different cars of the same model that they test. for the new G8 motortrend first got a 0-60 time of 5.3 secs. a second car they tested got 5.6.

"While the Maxima is quick-0 to 60 mph in 6.1 sec-the G8 is a full half-second quicker, gunning to 60 mph in just 5.6 sec. (The Pontiac's numbers are well off the 5.3-sec runs we recorded with another test car-same track, same driver-in our April issue; stay tuned to motortrend.com for updates as we investigate this anomaly.)"

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...8/results.html

sometimes the assembly-line gods smile on you and give you a faster then average car, sometimes you get a slower then average. who knows why/what makes the difference?

then throw in the diiffering testing methods, elevation, weather conditions, etc...

motortrend got a 0-60 time of 5.1 for their first '05 mustang gt, an auto!
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...rack_test.html

insideline got a 0-60 time of 5.9 for their first '05 mustang gt, a manual!
http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...5/pageId=61306

both articles discuss their launch techniques.

car and driver got 5.2 and 5.1 for a pair of early mustangs they tested.

you said something about a body kit. body kit = weight = slow.

Have you checked the air pressure in your tires? Sometimes it's just the little things...
