Default Wow ... now is the time to buy a 2008 GT ...

For those of you who are ready for a new Mustang it's a buyers market ....

Total of $4,000 in rebates are available and with an X-Plan it's even sweeter ... if I didn't have so much time and money invested in my V6 I'd have to snag this one at my local dealer ...

After X-Plan and $4K discount it comes to $26,137 .....

Bought mine for $25,300. A 32k sticker is way to high. I got them down from a 32k sticker to 25.3k while the 08's were hot. At this time you should be able to get them down much much cheaper.

Impressive ... and that is before Ford was offering rebates? Not sure how the dealer ate that big a hit ... 25K is way below invoice for a 32K car ... and without Ford backing up the discount it came out of the dealers pocket.

It's all about playing the games they play. The 25,300 was with the rebates of course but thats what I ended up paying before taxes and all that. This dealership was family owned so there were no dealer fees but they obviously do get their money other ways. I had been to 4 other Ford dealers that day and we were on the way home and my dad said "Why don't we stop at Sawgrass Ford and see what they have?" So we stopped and they located a vehicle at another dealership (My Torch Red GT). The salesman gave us his offer which was like 29 and my dad said that's too high for me and we got up from the chairs. The salesman said "Wait one minute let me go talk to my Manager." He comes back out and the paper said 25,300. We put a deposit on it and 2 days later we got a call from Ford saying that the car had arrived. Went to the dealer with my dad, put my down payment down, completed all the paper work and left with the car.

I obviously had been to other dealers a few weeks earlier and had been getting calls and all that but I just showed up at Sawgrass Ford and they didn't bargain much. Gave us an offer we didnt take it so they gave us a lower offer and we were set.

Bought my 08 GT/CS in March when rebates were $3,000... then tack on my X-Plan discount and I was OTD for $27,600. Needless to say I am quite happy with the deal, especially for a GT/CS with a sticker cost of $31,900.

It is most defiantly a buyers market right now.
I was thinking about trading in my 07 on a Torch Red 08, the sticker was $31,450 and they were going to let me have the car for $24,450…7K off, man what a deal.
I ended up not doing it because I was still going to loose more money then I was willing to.

When I was shopping a couple weeks ago a local dealership had an 08 GT with a STICKER price of $22.7K. It had cloth seats, manual tranny, no hood scoop or rear spoiler, but none of the above is necessarily a bad thing. Just for the deal I wish I would have gone for that car...even though my Torch Red is prettier IMO
