Mine will engage the gears as smooth as Hurst can, thats not it.

now that I put it in....

when shifting to 2nd at WOT, it will grind hard as it goes into gear, but if I'm at WOT and "slowly" shift into 2nd then there is no problem, did not have an issue till I installed the Hurst.

Hmmmmmmm..... I am having the same problem with my Roush shifter. I just figured it was the synchros again. If anyone finds out a fix please post it.

The fix is right above your post. It's the CHE K member brace with torque limiters.

What's happening is that the transmission is torquing to the side under heavy load. The shifter is remote mounted, and since there's less play in the short shifter, it's harder to get it into gear at those RPMs. The CHE K member brace with torque limiters keeps the transmission from torquing to the side as much, so the shifter slides right in whether you're at 2k or 6500. It's a good idea to do motor mounts at the same time, too, especially if you're blown.

I heard one of the steps (Pictures) on the hurst install kit is backwards? I forget which one! Did you follow the directions or look at the pictures?

I've had the same issue since installing the MGW. I figured it was the synchro's going out. I installed the factory shifter and I'll be going to the track tonight to test it. After really examining the MGW after uninstalling it, I can see that it really isn't designed for hard banging. The rubber sleeve that gets clamped moved on mine. I'm starting to wonder if that caused my binding issue.

the only problem i have with mine is when im pushing it hard into a corner and try to downshift from 3rd into 2nd it gets stuck and i cant get it into 2nd.

Had the same problem last weekend at the road track - every time I needed to rapidly downshift I'd get hung up between the 3rd to 2nd shift. Funny thing was, it only happened after I put about 5 laps on the car every session...
