Im really getting pissed off right now...I got a locking gas cap and I cant get the Fu*king lanyard from the stock one off.....Its really irritating. I dont want to cut it. Someone help me before I kill someone.

Basically, you answered your own question. You get it started and slowly turn it off of the threaded part. It takes an armstrong grip or at least, get a man child to do it for you.

Well not as bad when i placed the tranny plate off by 1 screw not noticing bolted it halfway back then realized and started it all OVER! which sucked....

just so you know.. i think you might get a CEL.. i was told our caps had a sensor in them so that if it didnt detect it, it would trhow a code and let you know your cap wasnt on.. so be carefull..

plus.. from years 88 and + .. cars started coming standard with an anti siphon baffle.. (i work at advance auto parts, and was told this)

so.. might not need it!

Mine wasn't hard to get off. I had to buy an aftermarket cap because the stock one wasn't sealing and my mustang kept throwing a engine light for the cap being off even though it was on. As for the sensor in the cap I am not sure that is true because I just bought a plain aftermarket cap from O'Reillys and haven't had any troubles. It curred my engine light as well.
