carwash vs hand-washing
So I was talking with a colleague the other day about washing my car and when I mentioned that I had used a car wash a time or two on the stang, I got the, "ooooohhh, don't do that!" look from him. I'm in a situation right now where I try to but can't always hand-wash the car. I always hand-dry with a chamois or terry-cloth when I am done at the wash, but I was curious what some of you guys on here thought. Is this a major no-no for a new car?

RE: carwash vs hand-washing
i havent car washed my new car since i got it. i heard that the machines can do dammage on ur car over time. Also when i use to get my old car to the wash they did a horrible job and left soap on it and everything.

well i took mine to a do it yourself yesterday after my trip home from panama city so i could get the undercarage better than i could at my house, it helps get all the sand/dirt/etc our from the fenderwells and creases in the body too...but yea no no to car washes, just a sign of laziness lol jk

RE: carwash vs hand-washing
Sorry to buck the trend...but I have too many other things going on with family, work and play to spend time hand washing. It is a car after all.
My dealer gave me free lifetime car washes...so I use them. Two times a week and the car looks the same as the day I picked it up. Every couple of weeks I will detail the wheels and windows by hand...but the rest of the car gets the robot treatment.
Does it look like a show car? Nope....but then again, it isnt a show car.
Time is precious, I have chosen to spend mine with the fam.
