Warranty coverage

RE: Warranty coverage
The key phrase Ford uses is "a competitive event". Just getting a time for bragging rights should be fine.
Entering a bracket night with cash or trophies would be considered a "competitive event" and would indeed void your warranty.
I personally would not lie if asked...but would not be volunteering the info either. Then again, my Mustang wont break 15

A fascinating read about our warranty coverage written by a lawyer.

RE: Warranty coverage
The mechanics at my dealer all race at my dragstrip. The service manager keeps tabs on the fastest cars they service there. Maybe I should worry about the Ford factory spies out identifying drag racers?

RE: Warranty coverage
Depends on the dealer. This whole thing is a big gray area.
Say you use a non Ford recommended oil for your car. 5W-30 non API certified. Just as an example. The head gasket blows. Ford asks you what type of oil you were using, you tell them, so they deny your claim. $1200 repair bill.
Now it's true that if the problem caused in this case had nothing to do with your oil, which it didn't, then they can't legally deny you. But they do anyway. Then what? It becomes this huge drawn out PITA process that could even result in a court date.
You put aftermarket parts on your car, use Redline/AMSOIL, etc. then you are taking a risk (however small) that you could end up in court or footing a giant repair bill if your dealer and/or Ford decide to be a stubborn *** about something that might come up.
