I keep hearing on what a difference a cai and tune do to our mustangs, and that the performance increase is really noticeable. The companies claim 30 t0 40 rwhp. Has anyone actually dynoed a stock car before and after a cai and tune installation ?

Well, I don't have but a "Seat of the pants Dyno" but I do have a C&L Street Intake setting in my garage and a SCT 3 coming from Doug at Bamachips this week, so I will give you my thoughts maybe by Friday. Doug is a tuner and he said I should see 25HP to the rear wheels minimum. I am also lining up some 4.10's for the following week. Best I can read... these two items are the biggest bang for the buck.

I barely noticed a difference between the stock 87 tune and the brenspeed 91 plus JLT. I have a manual transmission car which is probably partly why it was less exciting for me. It made a huge difference in my roomate's car which is an automatic. His shifts were much, much harder. I felt very little, if any, seat of the pants difference in my car. Throttle response seemed improved but it didn't push me back much harder.

I dont have the before dyno, but I do have the after dyno. With a brenspeed tune and BBK intake, along with Steeda CMCV plates, I'm putting down 300 to the wheels.

Yeah. I have the bbk intake with brenspeed 93 octane tune, and an off road x and i put down 300rwhp, on a HOT/HUMID day + 20" wheels. Could be 10 more rwhp had i put on some 17s.

Enough magazines have done dyno runs on stock S197s to assume that most are putting down in the area of 265 RWHP on a manual transmission (plus or minus a couple HP). So I didn't bother with the before. My after is posted(if the link worked) - 287 RWHP with a "conservative" 93 dyno tune. I may have the tune tweaked again on the dyno this fall to be a little more "aggressive"- I was leary of the whole idea at first but after getting it done, I would absolutely recommend it. The biggest difference you will feel is the increased throttle response, which you can't really put a number on anyway.

The companies to NOT claim 30-40 hp! They claim 15-27 and that's what you'll get.

I have had the stock manual 08 gt for about a month...the went to a steeda cai/steeda 93 tune and ..DAMM!!!!!!...very noticable....

Which CAI and tuners did you go with? Anyone go with a good combo deal from any of the sponsers? Any recommendations would be great.
