boomtube rattle
love the new boomtubes, but there is a metallic rattle comming from the rear. i had Midas put them on and weld vs. clamp. they sound GREAT, but at cold start idle and once in a while while at a stoplight or something, they start to shutter and rattle.i am wondering where this is comming from exactly. does anyone else have this problem? my buddy with LM's has the same problem, but his is much worse. any ideas? (the only + is that now you cant hear the hurst rattle lol)

RE: boomtube rattle
check your rear driverside brackets on the actual boom tube. Even if they are a 1/4 inch away, that could cause you to have some rattle, At least it did with mine. I took a dremel to the part that was rubbing and trimmed down the hanger bracket. Sorry for the confusion if I just confused you, its early and Im not thinking straight just yet.

I did the same thing. Trimmed down the bracket with a dremel. It was on the driver's side also.

My Pypes MM had a rattle after the pipes get hot. If you look down at the hangers with the car hot from driving and leave it running. You will probably see the hanger right up next to the Ford hanger. But cold, its atleast 1/4-1/2" away. Wouldn't think metal would expand that much.

That's exactly what happened to my boomtubes. It only rattled when it was hot and the pipes expanded thus lengthening it so much that it touched the hanger.
