Corvette tax is GAY!!!!! Well i guess you can get cheaper ones but i bet the same wheels for the stang would be less than the exact same wheels for a vette.

Hell a CAI cost around 500!!

when it comes to lightweight wheels youre going to be looking at most of the japanese companies...

Enkei
5zigen
Volk
gramlight

they all have lightweight wheels that are suitable for our cars so look around and dont get in a rush to buy something expensive like wheels.

That's what I did the first time (got in a rush). I'll definitely take my time and shop around.

Guess I'll use the on-car demo from tirerack and check out some combos. I know the jap companies will be the lightest and most affordable but you know how people are, I'll probably get a load of crap.

I'm kind of liking these now:

18x9.5, 21 lbs. each and don't look that rice. With those rims and the 18'' tires I'll be shedding about 12-15 lbs. per wheel unsprung weight. that's got to make a big difference in handling/braking/acceleration.

I have the 5Zigens FN01R in hyperblack, they come in 18X9.5 that weigh 22lbs. Good performance rim, I use them on the track - they are doing great. However, in the looks department there are a few bubbles where the paint is peeling away. So...if thats important to you I'd say stay away from any of the 5Zigen colored rims.

Also, if you havent done so already check out edgeracing.com one of the few sites that consistently lists rim weights.

If you want something cheap, look into Rotas. (I think theyre light. Not sure)

HOWEVER, you might not only get crap from hardcore domestic drivers, you might also get crap from import drivers, as they are replica wheels that Volk/Work owners like to hate on.

I don't know if Rotas are lighter than stock but I know they are heavier than Volk. I had the Rota D2's on my S2000 and they were cast wheels so they were heavier than Forged style like Volk.

If I remember correctly I looked this up prior to selling my old 18'' (factory torq-thrust look) wheels. They were about 27 lbs ea. (my 20'' Shelby Razors are 28 lbs ea.). VERY heavy for that size rim.

That's when I figured what the hell and sold them thinking I would get some quality lightweight rims if I ever wanted to go back to 17-18''.

If that is the case, then I need to ditch the factory FanBlades!
