Questions about buying a used GT
Hi all,
Been a lurker here for some time. I've been mostly on the classic forum (I have a 68 hardtop). But I need some help from the S197 folks. I'm going to look at a 06 GT with 41k on the odom tomorrow. The dealer is asking $15995; is that reasonable for a GT (premium, auto) with that type of mileage? I'm guessing that year did not have 5yr/60k powertrain warranty, correct?
Anything else I should be looking for when I check it out?
Thanks!

I bought my 06GT Premium last year with 15,500miles on it for $22,500.
I did a Suggested Retail Value on Kelley Blue Book with the info you provided, and it suggests $20,780. Here's the link http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/Pric...7C19481%7Ctrue

That seems very fair.
Unlike most new cars...the S197 is still easy to work on. You will actually be able to identify all motor components...and get to them with actual hands.
Go for it!
My old man is in the same boat. Always owned classics...but after driving my S197, he is "looking".

It does sound like a fairly good deal. Give it a good 'look-around' and check for any problems; I bought mine used and I was on my hands and knees looking underneath the car for any visible problems (it was worth is though, because the fixed the couple of problems I found before they gave me the car)
