Default Baby Seat

There was a thread awhile back on Baby Seats in our cars. I finally got around to taking a picture of the Simpson Racing seat in the back of my car. Its $140 off their website and my 12month old seems to like it. She's always liked riding in the GT anyway. Baby seats arent cool but they dont have to be hideous either.

Quick question, how much room do you have for your baby's feet/legs? I'm looking to buy a GT and I know it's could be an issue with my 20 month baby. Can a passenger fit in front with the baby seat in place?

Thanks

My wife and I took the car to blockbuster last night. Our baby is 30" long right now and has plenty of leg room with my wife in the front seat scooted all the way back.

My five year old rides in her booster all the time with someone in the front passenger. The key is having the base of the passenger seat tilted level...not leaning way back.

Tilting the seat base level REALLY moves the vertical part of the seat forward and leaves plenty of leg room for the front passenger.

She loves riding in the Stang...but she cannot see anything out of the window...

pwrl, my son is 22 months and he still has lots of leg room. It was much harder when he was under 12 months and he was in a rear facing carseat. During that time, my wife had to sit very uncomfortably.
I see lots of pics of carseats without leather set protectors!! its only $20 and it protects the leather from the carseat's pressure points.

Thanks all. The car seat thing will be a huge deal with my wife (looking at a GT today). Looks like I'll be safe on that front as long as she doesn't want another little one.

I was babysitting one of sisters little ones and tried to put the seat in rear facing for the day....whooo...the Mustang is NOT the car for that.

That would be a miserable year IMO! I think kids are rear facing for 1 year and 20 pounds...which can be longer than a year for many.

The forward facing works fine though...my littlest is five now, and she just scrambles in "the race car" herself and buckles up and is ready to go.

The only thing I have to watch is they forget how big and heavy the doors are...once the door starts springing open it is hard for little arms to bring it back under control.

For those facing a seat purchase...spend the extra and get a Britax. There is nothing safer at any cost. My wife was surprised to see that the Mustang has such high test scores. 5 and 4 stars all around...which is really quite good.

I gotta say, the kids love riding in the Mustang now...so much more than my wife's car. The first day of school is Wednesday and my son asked if I would take them to school instead of mom...
