have you checked for codes, your tuner should have a feature that lets you check for fault codes in the computer, if you have any, you can Google the code and get and answer, It could be O2 sensors as well, but the MAF sounds like the problem

its not throwing any codes. i did clean the MAF sensor yesterday. i have not let it sit to see if the problem is still occurring. however, it did run much better this morning. i'll let it sit at lunch and see if that fixed it.
