Follow the fuel line from the back of the tank all the way up to the motor, look at the injectors...do you smell gas at all?

Check the intake, any blockage?

Check the throttle body...care the flys opening and closing?

To be honest it sounds like heat soak, these cars are a lot more responsive when they startup but once they warm up you can really tell the difference.
