Default Help with polishing C&L Intake

I was at a car show and saw someone with a C&L Intake that was polished and now I want to polish mine. I've never polished aluminum before. Anyone have any tips, suggestions, etc?

I have a chrome BBK intake. I use BrassO to polish it and then wipe off any excess with a microfiber rag. I do the same for my chrome tips. It works like a charm.

I actually spent like 2 hours with a mothers power ball on it and it didnt improve at all. I'm thinking I'm going to have to sand it and then polish it to get the look I want. Or I'll just send it out to get powdercoated!

It depends on what type of look your going for. I have the C&L intake as well and mine is pretty rough. You can polish it the way it is but it will be bumpy, yet shiny. To do that you just need a high speed buffing wheel. If you want it nice and smooth you'll unfortunately have to sand it all down first. There isn't any easy way to do this that I know of. That is going to require allot of elbow grease and some different grits of sandpaper. I'd start with 80 and finish off with 600ish. Then you can polish it. I find using a high speed buffing wheel, then finishing by hand one of the better ways of doing it.

I just painted mine
