The other thing to do is to use anti-seize when you put the new ones on.

Hey Gang,
I have some new insight and hope for the plug issue.
I just changed mine at 54k(its modifide but I bought it to drive ).
I followed the tsb to the letter and had absolutely NO issues with them coming out. Also there was very little carbon. I waited so long for two reasons:

1) I wanted to wait until I could find the plugs at a cheaper price.
(Got two sets at Summit for 4.95 ea. per plug but, this was thier type error and that price does not exist anymore).

2) I wanted to test the theory that the issue was not as wide spread as many had thought but, was the result of a bad batch of plugs and not every plug.
Most of the breakage issues were with the earlier 3valve F-150 trucks and very few early 3 valve Mustangs, and the Stangs that were effected were all 05's (to my knowledge).
Further to test my theory, I took 16 used plugs that I gathered from different cars and placed all of them in a vise (one at a time ) and placed great force and torque on each plug and Not one of them seperated. I finally did break a few but it was with un-realistic means.

No Fear!

Perhaps you had very little carbon because of so many WOT's! After all, you bought it to drive it. lol

thanks for the info! makes me feel better. (sorry for the hijack!)
