Brenspeed Stage 3 at the track.
Just thought I would do a quick review for you guys thinking about a Saleen Brenspeed Stage 3. I was debating between picking up a used GT 500 or go s/c with the GT. I kept going back and forth decided to go s/c on the GT. I did a lot of researching on superchargers and decided to go with a Saleen and the Stage 3 3.4 pulley 9.5 psi from Brenspeed.
I watched Dave from Brenspeed dyno the car it pulled 415rwhp on a 11.4-5 afr so in my mind I am thinking ok a 12.0's to 12.20 et car knowing once I hook up my wideband I can tune the afr myself to a 11.9.
So take the car to the track
Specs
06 GT 7k miles
Auto
Stock 3.31 gears, stock suspension
Car is all stock except for the Stage 3 and I have Boomtubes.
Took off my 18’ AM bullits wheels & 18’ 255 tires
Put my stock Bullits & tires up front and ran MT DR’s 275-40-17’s on my srtock bullits in the rear.
Temp out was around 80+ today.
The car went 11.89 so went a little better than I expected on a 11.4-5 afr, I am thinking once I get my bung installed and hook my XD 16 wb and tune the afr to around 11.9-12.0 I should see 11.70’s maybe an 11.60’s which imo is very decent for this setup above per specs. The other thing is I really like the Super Shaker upgrade but will try to wait to see how others like it first and then decide whether to go with it.
I also wanted to mention the service & hospitality I received from Brenspeed was 100% first class from start to finish I can’t say enough. I went up on a Sunday (Monday install) they put me in a immaculate newer fully furnished house, 2.5 car garage, big screen LCD, cable TV, DVD movies, fridge stocked with food and drink, computer room including computer with high speed internet. 2 bedroom & master bath and gave me a Ford Navigator to use. To be honest I couldn’t believe it. I am also very happy with the performance the car produce with their kit and their tune at 9.5 psi.
I have pictures from my stay with Brenspeed didn’t know if I should post them or not.
So if your considering a Saleen Brenspeed Stage 3 the above is how it performed for me.

Thanks and I think I could answer that for you lets examine and analyze the following JDM tuned Saleen 3.4 pulley setup.
Member from another forum.
Hot Rod Harry
Specs:
07 Mustang GT
Auto
Saleen 3.4 pulley
JDM Tune
4.10 gears/LCA Brackets,
Spyder D.S.Metco loop, BMR Rear springs
Kooks LT/X pipe/Cats, FRPP Mufflers
MT 275-40-17 Drag Radials/stock rims
According to my talks with JDM they like to run a 12.0 afr
HotrodHarrys ET with the above setup:
ET 11.40
4.10 gears 2-3 tenths?
Spyder DS 1 – tenth?
Kooks LT/X setup 1-2 tenths?
A 12.0 afr vs.11.5 2 tenths?
So if we look at the above and add the above mods to my car I think I would be very close either way running that JDM tuned car vs. my Brenspeed tuned car imo.
@Hufenstang, Whiteflash Cobra 443 & Piggysmallz Thanks
Side note
I highly recommend checking out Harry’s site (Hotrodharrys.com) this guy has or had around 100 cars. Some amazing cars (mid engine olds, cobra’s, Vipers, Vette's etc etc) when you have time (around a hour) get a pot of coffee check out his site an excellent read!!

Brenspeed is a 1st Class Operation, and the emphasis is on Class! I've never seen where they've bad mouthed any other vendors or try to say we'll beat another vendors price. People know they're really good at what they do, and customer service is top notch. Looking forward to the SuperShaker, and congratulations on the great times at the track.
