Default Installing new gears in an Auto,

Has anyone tried 3.73 gears and 4.10 in their Automatics. I have heard don't go up more than 2 gear sets ... hence 3.73 over the stock 3.31. Then I have heard that I won't notice the difference unless I go to the 4.10s. Can anyone who has done it tell me the difference between the two as far as performance, feel and rpm difference. (3.73s over 4.10s)

3.73 auto a good combination. I wouldnt want 4.10 with my automatic unless I am running a 28" tire.

I have an automatic, and the first thing I did was the 3.73 gears. I definitely noticed a difference between that and stock. And I'm glad I did it.

I just had 3.73's installed Friday...breaking them in now. My wife and myself can feel a difference. Going to the track Friday, also going to test the Bama torque vs Race tune.

If you have 3:31's now then you will feel a big difference with 3:73. The people who say you need 4:10's are the ones like me who's car came with 3:55's

I went from 3.31 to 4.10 in my auto. Driving low speeds is definitely more fun and a huge difference. High speeds on the interstate FLAT OUT SUCKED. I had some other problems with the gears, (whining) so when the shop was going to adjust them, I just had them put in 3.73s instead. In my opinion, 3.73s are WAY better for an auto than 4.10s. Still a big improvement over the 3.31 and rides much better on interstate.

Thanks for all the input Guys,.... Sounds like its the 3.73 gear set for sure then. I have a feeling even though the Stang is just a weekend ride, I would prob. not be happy with the 4.10s when doing some cruising on the open road. Plus I already have trouble getting traction with the 3.31s in 1st and 2nd now.
