Turn car into a shelby, or saleen or steeda??
So I know Shelby has his own plant, where you can take your bone stocky Gt and have them put parts galore on it, and then they will register it has a shelby or whatever, but do those types of places exist everywhere? I'm on the east coast(northern VA area) and want to look around for doing that kinda work, but would want to do it the right way, by the professionals trained in those cars (ie. Steeda, Saleen, Shelby). I just wanted to know if those types of places, are all over, or if I want to get my car shelbynized, i'd have to send it way west! Thanks for your time guys

Never under estimate the local talent. You might find a craftsman who can build your ride just the way you want it. Most of the parts are bolt ons and most body shops can handle color match and O.E.M. quality paint or better.I've seen some really trick rides from back east posted on this forum.

+1...not to mention, if your just talking about appearance stuff, any body guy worth his weight in salt can slap those on.
A LOT of guys on here (pure amateurs) did their own conversions and they look absolutely fantastic.
Search for MellowYellow on here and look at his ride and you'll see what I'm talking about.

the above links can "transform" you're GT into like a 600hp show car. However, if you want to go Roush or Saleen, I would just go buy one from the factory instead of making a "clone"
Or like everyone else is saying, build ur own.

If you really want to have it done by Shelby and documented as such, I believe he has a place in Conn.
Look it up.
Personal I like doing it yourself as it is more personalized and cheaper but if you have $$ get what you want.

I like all your points. I guess with some bad stories from past cars and body shops i'm alittle gun shy about getting body mods and such. The bolt on things i think I can handle, but it was more body stuff. I guess at some point ya just have to bite the bullet, do some research and hand the car over to a professional huh?And yea, mellowyellows car is sick, and if he did that by himself, my god. Thanks for the tips guys, much appreciated
