Default Exhaust cutouts before cats?

Ok so heres the deal.... I have a pypes mid muffler system right now on the car, the rest of the exhaust stock... It it possible to have a cutout BEFORE the cats? Kind of like open headers\manifolds?

I couldn't see how, your converters are so high up pretty much right after the headers...

i had a thread like this the other day.. but what i think would work is if you got a custom mid pipe (like an o/r) and some weld on cats and put them further down the pipe and then welded in the cutout...

but that seems too much fab for me, im thinking about putting them right behind the "-" in the "H" (or whatever you have)

I think the PCM would have a hissy fit, going from catted to non-catted on the same tune...

Just put the 02 sensors after the cutouts and it should be no problem.

define "not good"im the guy that had the z28 with the loudmouth exhaust with the cutout before the resonator and nice headers to go with...

shiz deeep and loud...nastyyy

and i just doubt that a littl 4.6 281 will sound anything like a 5.7 350

unless you mean bad like ricer bad...?

Both motors equipped with the same longtubes and cutouts in the same location will sound very very similar. They both can be quite raspy, but both sound good to me.
