Default Wierd noise when turning after a drive?

I'm getting this weird noise when I turn my 06 GT after a moderate drive (about 20-25 mins). Both left and right hand turns at low speeds, up to 30mph but possibly more (I don't turn the car at sharp angles going past that speed obviously.) It's a weird whirring noise that sounds like it's coming from the steering maybe?

This only happens AFTER I drive the car for awhile. Never when I just start up the car. Does anyone know of a TSB on anything like this? Unfortunately I believe my 3 year 36,000 bumper to bumper just ran out, so I'm unsure if the existing warranties will cover this.

It's gotten slightly more pronounced lately. At first I thought it was just a normal noise and not a problem but recently two passengers both remarked on the noise the car was making on turns at low speeds.

*Almost forgot, hope everyone is enjoying their holiday!

Plus one, there is a TSB out for this...I would assume that even if your car is out of warranty you should still be able to get it done.

Also there is directions in your manual about how to test the power steering levels etc...could be the power steering pump going.

But it sounds more like the TSB.

Just for clarification, are you referring to the rear end clutch packs TSB?

Yes, that the one...apparently they didn't lube the clutch packs with the correct lube prior to install I believe was the issue...?
Wierd though b/c my 06 didn't have the issue.

Yep. That's it exactly. It sounds like the car is moaning... and not the good kind of moaning... the kind of moaning old people do when they can't get out of bed or something. Ha...

Anyways, thanks everybody for notifying me of this TSB, I thought it might be a common problem. I'll try to find it via search, but if anyone has a link to it that'd be nice.

Thanks again guys.

Yes, there is a TSB out on this for some time......some people think they replace your clutch packs.............they add another bottle of friction modifier, it's like 4 oz. bottle....get it at Ford.....added a bottle and it is gone.......

This is what I learned from a Tech at a Mercury Dealership...........very common problem with the 8.8.

This is just my experience......was an easy fix........

try sitting still and move the wheel. if it squeals/whines, its your power steering pump.
