What to do!??

My 07 Mustang GT is going to be paid for in a couple of months and I’ve been researching options for my next car. Although I’ve enjoyed my Mustang I’d like something with a little more HP. I’ve read that the 2010 Mustang GT might have a 400 HP engine and that would a welcome improvement. The 2010 Challenger will have 425 HP which sounds even better. But after more research I discovered that it’s so darn heavy that it’s hardly faster than the 300 HP Mustangs. It does have a six speed manual though and that’s a big plus. The Camaro will have some HP but I don’t care for the design work. My other thought is to drop a blower on my current engine but it seems like that would be money that would be lost and in the end lower my resale value. How great do you all think the 2010 Mustang will be? Will they mess up the design with funky design stuff? Well it have 400 HP? A six speed manual?

I thought about a blower but after looking at all the problems with the financial markets and institutions and the crazy events in DC yesterday I decided it would be smarter to take the money for the blower in cash and keep it at home in the safe. Interesting that the bank had some problems finding that much cash but they did wrap each $1k money packet with cool little money wraps marked $1000. I know that the banks are insured but with all the strange problems going on some cash in the safe could sound better than the whine of a blower. You never know!

From what I’ve seen here so far I think they may have messed up a good thing on the 2010 http://www.fordvehicles.com/the2010mustang/ What do you folks think?

As an aside I'm beginning to wonder if the Camaro will be coming out for reals. Looking at how GM is doing right now... Could be up in the air. Gasoline should be coming down pretty good now going into winter and with crude under $90 but given the state of their stock valuation... Very questionable.

it's definitely hard to make any kind of viable guess as to what the future markets will hold given the current state of things. gm stock went down 1/3 yesterday! if i were you, i'd enjoy my paid-in-full stang and wait things out for a bit.

Besides every time they come out with a newer model it will be better. If a person doesn't mind throwing money at it and upgrading every 5 years or less then go right ahead. If you are on more of a budget - it makes a little more sense to keep what you have, take good care of it, and put a little money into it here and there to make it go a little faster.
