My wife had the same thing happen to her, only she backed out of a spot and then some old as dirty guy backed his pickup into her door. People just do not look back while backing up.

How these people get a license in the first place is beyond me. If you back up while looking forward or in your mirrors, it equals instant fail!

Could have been a lot worse. Still, what a PITA.

MellowYellow06: I am scheduled to drop the car off next week to have everything replaced, and pick up a rental. They are going to install a new door, handle, and pull the dent out of the quarter panel. Strip and paint that entire side of the car. I should have the car back by Friday.

dmhines: That's funny, because I have been looking at a new hood.

MustangGT0405: I think the quotes I have are pretty fair for the damages, but you know they never give you enough money. It is amazing how we think, because I did look for black wrecked mustangs in the area (no luck)...lol

Jbauer: Hmmm.

I almost had the same thing happen to me last thursday in a parking deck. I was slowly going down the deck and some girl in an expedition just started backing out of her spot without looking. Instead of using the horn, i just floored it and swerved around her, but I would have been in your same situation if there was someone in front of me.
