Could you just use some simple green and a towel and just wipe off the dust cuz our cars arent too old so they should have too much grease or oil on them right??

i always use a bag and cover the fuse box, air filter and alternator.

The rest is fair game under a garden hose

Would you please post pictures demonstrating this procedure?

Jack - it is in the isle with the degreaser's. I heard they were going to discontinue it but I see it everywhere still. I love the stuff for my DD but I don't use it on the stang as the engine bay is never dirty anyway.

Also I like to use Zaino Perfect Tire gloss.... doesn't attract dust and can be used on anything rubber vinyl or plastic. I use it on my tires all the time and before shows and it absorbs easily and wont sling onto the car after.....contains no silicones (that will brown the tire)

Mine hasn't gotten too bad, so I usually just use some tire wet on a microfiber, but if I ever need to thoroughly clean it, I'd do something similar to what was outlined at the top.

J, my Mustang's engine bay probably isn't as clean as yours but it doesn't get very dirty. I never drive it in the rain and it stays in the garage most of the winter. But I might clean my wife's car with it. That Zaino Perfect Tire gloss sounds like the perfect answer to the problem of slinging all over the fenders.

Thanks,

-Jack-

Question, does this depict the necessary precautions in preparation of proper engine cleaning?

I covered the battery, fuse box and cold air intake with plastic bags.
