If price makes no difference, the way to go would be Bogart 15"s. If price is a concern, then there's 2 options. Greg Weld makes a 17" that summitt sells, though last I knew, the rears were on backordered. They bolt on with no changing of the studs or anything needed. Otherwise, stock 17's all around with M/T's or M&H's is what most people are running. Actually, you can fit stock 16" v6 wheels on the rear, though they won't fit on the front.

For the stock wheels, you'll need M/T 275/40/17 or M&H 275/50/17. If you have forced induction and lower gears, then go with the M&H's. If you're NA then go with the M/Ts.

Default switching from 20" to 18" wheels

ive decided im going to swap my 20" DD bullits for 18" version.

whats the widest wheel and tire combo i could do on the rear. i bought my wheels used and i dont even remember what offset they are any more.

whats the perfect 18" wheel combo? and tire package for best street/strip. id really like to be able to swap to 18" and be able to drive it to the track and still get decent launchs. i cant afford to buy a new set of tires and wheels just for the drag strip so i need the best of both worlds.

Before I bought my wheels I was told that a 10" wheel was the widest you could install on the s197 front and rear. I have a 18 x 9.5" wheel and I have about 1.5" clearance between the inside of the wheel and the rear swaybar, so that is probably about right. My car came with 18" fanblades that had a +50 offset, my "Beyond" wheels are wider and have a +45 offset. To me it seems that a little more meat on the tires would cushion the daily driver as well as help at the strip. Just as a reference, I am running 255/45/18s all around but you can probably go as wide as 285 on the back. Hope this helps.

I am going to get the Shelby DD bullets.

18x9 Front - 255/45/18 Nitto 555
18x10 Rear - 305/45/18 Nitto DR

They are basically the same tread pattern between the 2, so rain shouldnt be much of a problem.

Nitto's arent the best at the track but they will beat a regular street radial.

If you go this route I would be interested to check them out since I am in Orlando too.

Only problem is that because they are so tall your overall gearing will be reduced. I am fixing that with 4.10's.

If you want to drive to the track on them I would get 2 stock 17 inch wheels.

If you arent in a big hurry I will be selling 2 of mine after I buy new wheels toward the end of the year, and no shipping since we are both in Orlando.

On those 17's I too would suggest 275/50/17 M&H's.

If you want track only I would get a set of the ET streets for the 17" rim. That is a true track time.

I am going to run DR's on my street rims so I will probably get the ET streets for the track for the full performance gain. Just have to have some place to keep the ones you drive in with.
