Is high octane fuel a requirement for a S/C? Do people run 91 pump gas with these things?

First and foremost thanks for your feedback. I'll be contacting Jason at VMP tuning and going from there. Unfortunately, I dont have the canned tune for the kit. I'll plan on staying near or at 10psi to be on the safe side until I could have the car dyno tuned.

Lots of areas don't have that option. I know that the higher octane the better with FI and I'm curious to see how many people are running 91 with a supercharger and what the effect has been.

on the whipple instructions it says use 91 or higher octane, mine is tuned for 92 bc thats what we have around here
i have 3 tunes, 1 @ 420 hp, 1 @ 460 hp, and a race tune i havent dyno'd yet. oh i forgot i just changed pulleys so i gotta dyno again, so idk what the numbers are now. lol. there are many factors that shorten the life of your engine, hp and psi are 2 factors to consider, especially if your block and internals are stock.

beed around 498 whp 478 wtq @ 10.2 psi for about a month and a half, no probs yet! VMP email tune should be pretty good and safe. When justin dyno tuned mine, he started out with his email tune and tweaked it from there.

Americanspeed - Just noticed you track time in your sig. 117mph is pretty good but I would have thought at 500rwhp you would be around 120mph.

I plan on hitting the track in december.

I agree his MPH should be a lot higher (117mph) imo with kind of power should be a least around 121-122mph.
