Default Aftermarket steering wheel and seat?

Has anyone changed their steering wheel to an aftermarket one? I am planning on changing mine out along with my drivers seat but I had a few questions. I'm pretty sure I heard that taking out the seat disables the airbags, is that true? Also, is that true for the steering wheel as well?

And how would I go about wiring the horn since I'm assuming I won't be using the clock spring anymore?

I'd probably want to buy your stock wheel. I have a Deluxe model whose steering wheel doesn't have metal spokes. I like metal spokes.

there are aftermarket clock springs and wiring kits, but your big problem will be the airbag light that wont go awayunless you correct the resistance in the circut. i dont know about the seat though.

I already broke my clock spring so I'm pretty used to the airbag light

According to my Ford dealer, who could just be feeding me a line of bullsh*t, if you disconnect the seat airbags it will disable the entire airbag system. I looked into this awhile back before recovering my seats with custom leather because it is close to impossible to find custom leather that is sewn for side airbags. I never could find anymore answers as to whether my Ford dealer was correct or not so I ended up having my covers sewn with breakaway thread to accomodate the airbags.

No, not all mustangs have the side seat airbags. It was optional equipment from Ford. If you have them your seats will have a little tag sewn in the seam that says "airbag".

I hope someone has some information on the airbags. I don't care if changing the drivers seat disables the drivers side airbag since the steering wheel is being changed too but I would like to keep the passenger side airbag if I could.

The fun will begin when you have an accident and your insurance company refuses to pay because you removed the airbags.
