2005 V6 Mustang Tranny Problems (Need your help too GT guys)
Hey guys! Recently I've been having some issues with the manual tranny on my '05 V6 Mustang. I've taken her out twice to the local track (road race) now, and have had the same issue both times. It seems when I start running the car hard, and it develops heat, that it likes to lock out 2nd and sometimes 3rd gear, and by lock out I mean it won't let me shift until I let the car cool off.
I've been reading into this, and even started asking others for opinions. At the moment it seems everyone thinks my synchros are going or are already close to gone. I've also been told it could be my short-throw shifter (Hurst). But today I came across a thread on another forum about someone's complaint with their hydraulic clutch on their GT - all of the symptoms were identical to mine. On that thread someone explained that since the brake reservoir and master cylinder for the clutch are tied together, that when the brake fluid gets hot you can start feeling inconsistencies with the clutch.
For any of you road racers/autoxers out there, what brake fluid are you running? And have you ever experienced anything similar to what I'm describing? I really hope it isn't the tranny....
BTW here are some vids from the last track day (last friday):

Don't critique, just enjoy the vids

honestly your problem is the t-5. its a complete piece of ****. i know people who have gone through 2 of them. they just arent a good tranny. they break easy. might want to look into getting an adapterplate for the t-3650 from the GT or the 6060 from the gt500. a little costly but once you start doing performance stuff you will be glad. and they shift SO much smoother.
