I'd like to know also. I love GN's. Thinking about buying one as a project car in a couple years. Either that or a fox body.

My dad really wants one. But he has a 71' gs 455 right now. The GNs are cool but is it hard to get them to go fast and have them be smog legal?

With the auto tranny I'd recommend leaving at idle. That's how I've gotten my best times. Trying to bring the rpms' up to 1500 just makes my engine bog.

Bad idea for a V6. It needs some RPM's off the line inorder to get that jump. Otherwise it will leave the line like a granny car.

I've wondered the exact same thing. Since I'm unable to launch at a RPM that's even worth it. I was wondering if it's actually quicker by just gunning it from an idle...cuz I notice a bog too.

For me it's worked out that way. Leaving at idle nets me atleast a tenth or two depending on how bad the car bogs. Unless you have a stall converter it's almost pointless to try to bring your rpm's up in an auto tranny car. Try it next time you go and post your results.

To the OP-You should go to Barona tonight instead. Way better track and crowd. Seems like Qualcomm attracts all the "thugs". That's where I'll be anyways with a couple of friends.
