what would you get first

RE: what would you get first
That would depend on how you want to use the car. Personally, I'm going to get the gears first (4.10s). My car will only see the track once in a while (just because there aren't any nearby), and it is my daily driver.

don_w,
Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the 4.10 give you a quicker acceleration? Please forgive still learning.

RE: what would you get first
Let's assume you have an automatic transmission 05 GT... the stock rear gear ratio is 3.31. Let's also assume 4,000 rpm for a comparison. In 5th gear (i.e, overdrive), that translates to a "theoretical" speed of ~130mph (ignoring other forces - drag, friction, cops, etc.). If the rear gear is changed to 4.10, the same 4,000 rpm would result in a "theoretical" speed of ~105mph. The reason is that the engine has to make more revolutions to turn the tires through one circumference.
The gear change will also cause the engine to rev higher at any given constant speed. Using the same assumptions as above, at 70mph, the stock ratio will run at about 2,150 rpm. But with the 4.10s, it will turn at about 2,650 rpm.

Hope this helps... class dismissed.

haha.. don.. you found the general!! yeeeeeeeee hawwwwww..
As for the gears.. I'm not quite sure what gears I should get for the procharger.. I will need something where I can play a little in the red since boost wont hit till 3-4K . need some long tubes I think... hummm... Hey.. I was told that I could get an new optional fuel pump from ati that will raise the boost to 9-10 PSI resulting into 500 RWHP!!!.... but I said hell no.. hahah.. I want to see if I can go 450 rwhp for a while and see what happened.. but its cool to know I'm just a pully or fuel pump away from an easy 50 rwhp... now what birdyman? (flame, flame..haha)
