GT500 heads on GT

I read on another site that you could fit the GT500 heads on a gt block and i was just wondering if its true or not, they said it would be a huge inprovement in flow. i know you would need news cams and stuff but i was just wondering if they would bolt up?

I highly doubt it. those 4 valve heads are pretty d@mn big. plus the block isnt made for that. those heads are wide and huge.

You won't be able to bolt them on. The size of the two blocks will not allow this. The bolt holes wouldn't line up, the valves wouldn't line up plus the intake would have to be changed alot with the fuel rails. I just don't see this working out. There would be serious overhang on the edges even if they did bolt up.

These heads will bolt and the whole project while doable but I dont see it worth on it.

The biggest problem will be getting a intake that match the port hole of the heads and the width of a 4.6 block. But even that can be solved, basically this are the same heads of 2000 Cobra R and are the same heads of a Ford GT, they are similar to 4V heads of a cobra 03-04 but with different intake and exhaust ports.

But even the intake part can be solved with a custom unit, I'm sure people like Hogan or even MMR could make one for it.

You will also need a custom header that would bolt on the exhaust side of the head or a modified version of a GT500 header becuase of the lower deck height of a 4.6.

A ported 3V head will flow pretty stout numbers so it makes all this effort pretty worthless.
