I really like the way those tires look. Is that the way 18s usually look?

Sure if you put some meat on the wheels...I would almost bet that those are 50 series tires.

So people with 18's usually don't use 50 series?

i dont even have a 50 series and i have 17's..

but 50 is definitely more then the average for 18's.
normally you would see 40 series

Allstar: It's alright man...I get confused between (sale and sell) sometimes. For a long time I didn't even know that congradulations was not a word. Who knew.

Bmr4life: A important determining factor is the tire width, but people usually go with a shorter tire to give the effect that the wheel is larger (Optical illusion). Something else is price, going with a more readily available tire will decrease the overall price. So picking out a unusual tire size will be more expensive. It is a matter of personal preference I guess. I have 255/45/18s on mine.

I run 255/45/18 front 285/40/18 rear and I get a lot of compliments on how they look, can't imagine running a 50 series, I'd rub like hell

They look like standard size to me, 255/45 and 285/40. Definitely look like Sportlines too.
