Default Baer 14" brake kit-- improper brake pad wear. Anyone else?

For those who have this kit I was wondering if you're experiencing the same problem. I use Hawk pads with it (p/n HB484F.670) and it's obvious enough that about 1/32 of an inch of the outer part of the pad is not touching the rotor at all because it out way too far (and that is for all 4 pads). I tried losening the caliper and the caliper bracket bolts and moving those parts closer towards the wheel hub and then retightening the bolts again, but still the same result. Today I put new pads on and, finally, took a picture of the old ones. I figured getting rid of the problem would increase the total size of the pad itself that is touching the rotor and slightly improve on the braking power and that's why I'm concerned about it. Anyone else with this kit and the same problem? Anyone else using Hawk pads with this kit? I really don't want to do any drilling, but it looks like I might end up having to or, eventually, switching to a better kit.

I say just run em.. I cant see that 1/16th of an inch really hurting anything. Ive seen many vehicles with aftermarket(autozone, advance auto, etc) brake pads with much worse overhang

It's not the overheating that I'm concerned about. It's that one piece on the outer part of the part that is STCIKING OUT without even touching the rotor. The one the arrow is pointing at on the picture. It's like the whole caliper bracket is shifted away from the wheel hub
