Default GT500 Brembo's

Can anyone give me the scoop on the set- includes calipers, brakes, rotors. Whats the difference between the set and whats currently on my GT (stock). Also, if you have installed them, how difficult is it to install? Could I do this job in my driveway?

Also, if you have purchased them, how much did you end up paying? (Try to give me a roundabout price range for the calipers, brakes, rotors).

here is an article on changing stock gt brakes to the 14" rotor kit on the gt500

http://www.musclemustangfastfords.co...ade/index.html

You can get that ford racing brembo kit (part number M-2300-S) that includes, 14" front rotors, pads for front and rear, new calipers, hoses, and dust shield for $1500.

While this kit will vastly improve your stopping power i dont think it adds much appearance wise. IMO i would invest the extra $500-700 and get cross-drilled rotors, because those look awesome too!

I got the AP RACING Front brake kit. I CAN TELL YOU ITS WELL WORTH IT!!! Plus it comes with the drilled and slotted rotors. It is a little more money than what your thinking of but from my experience its amazing stopping power all the time.

Will I absolutely NEED the dust shield and the hoses for install?? I can pick up the calipers, rotors, and pads for the FRONT only for a bit less than $600- good deal, or should I pass?

Smile Big Brakes

I also have a 2006 Mustang GT. I bought the Roush 14 inch front big brake kit however it is really just a relabeled StopTech kit with dustshields. It has the 2 piece front rotors which actually weighed a few pounds less the the 12 inch factory rotors at least on my bathroon scale. The 4 piston calipers are awesome!

I'm selling my car so I took off the Roush brake kit, but look on Auto trader under zip code 55044 (minnesota) for my car (listed for $19,500) with picture of it with the Roush kit.

You really need the OEM GT500 dustshields.
The OEM GT dustshields just dont cut it.

"The stock dust shield was removed and the GT500-specific one installed."

rather then getting the dust shield, i would go with the part below

http://www.shelbyperformanceparts.co...Plate%20GT500&

Its a shelby kit that will allow to you add brake ducts to your front grille.

Although, when i tried to order it, it was back ordered. Ford racing has a similar kit but its more expensive.
