Finally finished my custom rear medallion - check out the pictures
Little thing for most people, but I wanted to replace my rear medallion with one that is unique, but looked like Ford would have designed it. My SHR one was nice, but looked aftermarket.
So I took a Shelby (satin chrome) emblem, removed the center piece, make a perfect fit satin black disc. Then I got a '68 Mustang emblem off Ebay (black center). It has the raised edges and curved back, so I put it on the mill at work, and machined both surfaces flat. Then I brushed the top surface with 1000 grit sandpaper, and clearcoated it. I'm going to make 2 more of those GT badges for my fenders. Here are the results: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/DSCF9299.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/DSCF9301.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/DSCF9295.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/DSCF9281.jpg |
It is pretty different, and it's up in the air on how good it will look on certain colors IMO. Definitely a good job in making that custom emblem. I think it looks good on your car.

emblem looks good, but I personally would loose the honeycomb insert---just clashes with the stripes too much IMO
