Default Shifter

Just curious, is there some reason you didn't try MGW?

I have had both the cheap stamped one and the billet one. I have the billet one installed right now in the car and like the feel quite a bit better. The billet one seems smoother and more solid. I just was not all that happy with the feel of the cheaper stamped one.

On to the rattle issue. Both acted the exact same way in my car. My tranny is dead smooth with no noises and the rear end is smooth. Keep in mind this is an 06 with 7K miles. Several other cars I have rode in have been a bit noisy in 1 way or another.

My shifters never rattle under normal driving or acceleration. They rattle about 25% of the time under deceleration. Best I can tell though is that it is a drive line vibration that is amplified by the crappy way our shifters are mounted. There are many threads on why the MGW is better because of the way it mounts, but in reality they just do a much better job of isolating the shifter and dealing with the lousy way our shifters are mounted. The tranny flexes with power but the shifter is mounted solid... Anyway from reading about 80 threads on here about My shifter is better than Your shifter... if yours rattles it just does.

Good luck finding one you like.

Eric

This takes care of rattling on the Hurst for good.
I don't use the BS washers that come with the kit.
I instead, use thin copper ones, and one on the **** also.
Not that I had problems with mine, but I do this on every installs.
Done. Play time...

I am thinking about trying out the new hurst. I love my comp plus but want to see how much more solid the new one is.

I feel the same way too.
I wanna try it on another car first, as soon as I get the opportunity...
Considering how pleased I am with the current one, I can't see how much more of an improvement the billet one would be.

After all, you can't fix what isn't broke.
