Default Curious about Hurst Shifter

I know alot of people on here have the Hurst short throw, and I know alot of you would just say go straight for the mgw or something of that sort. But I am wondering how many people have had a problem with their Hurst Shifter?

i wouldnt say any problems, but some minor complaints. the stick gets quite hot, it rattles esp on downshift, and once in a great while, it will not slip all the way into gear. but for every complaint i have, somebody will tell you that hasent happend to them, so use your judgement.

Hurst shifter is one of the best shifters out there and is a bit notchy (which i like and prefer) but any of the aftermarket short throw shifters will be notchy to a point because of the nature of the trans itself and the way they are made (compared to prev yrs). Good article that is in this section from George (owner-MGW ) about the short throw and notchiness and I still prefer the MGW for its nice 3rd gear centering spring and the quality of the shifter itself and can be adj from 15%-50% reduction in throw. The shorter the throw the more notchy the shifting can become regardless of the aftermarket shifter. So the Hurst is a great buy and find...go for it!
