Guys with 6 disc in dash shaker mp3 player......COME ON IN!

Sup. The other day I noticed my cd player was acting up. I was listening to a hip hop mp3 cd & it would pause 3-4 times throughout each song. The delay was about 2-4 seconds each time. The song time on the HU display would pause as well. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I have no idea what would cause this as I have never had this problem in any of my other cars.

I got like 30k miles, no problems with it. But I have heard of people having some problems with it.

I have 45K miles on my '07, and the only trouble I've had is with it kicking CD's out and saying they were bad disks. But I stopped using the cheap no-name-brand CD's, and haven't had that problem in a long time. Mine has never done anything like you describe.

Was this cheap CD's you had trouble with? I'd try some name brand ones if so.

I think you'll find in the Owner's Manual that there's some small print, something to the effect that there are no CD player's, the Shaker 500 included, that can handle Hip Hop... :p

hip hop is serviceable for town/city street driving :(

To fix it take the following steps.

1. Go get yourself some good CD's.
2. Put them in your computer and open up the program you use to burn CD's.
3. Burn some good hard Rock onto the CD's.
4. Put them in your CD changer.
5. Enjoy.

If it still doesnt work some changers might need a heavy dose of Metal to come around. Its hard putting something good into your system after jamming it full of crap for so long! It might be like "WTF good stuff omg!!!" at first. Just give it a try or two.

No but seriously I have no idea why it would do that. Just take the CD (along with another to prove it) to the dealership and have them listen. If its still under Warranty youll be fine.

Crap just saw its an 05

No matter what you listen to the shaker encounters issues. That's why I put in my alpine deck. It cost me 550$ in 2001 and it still is holding up. Well worth the cash imo. They no longer carry the same quality

Start looking at a replacement, If you need another shaker500 I can sell you one realllly cheap its on my shelf.

The Shaker in my 06 GT acted strange from the beginning. One day it locked up and wouldnt do anything, I took it in and the dealer ordered a replacement. The day before I took it in for the replacement install, it came back to life. I unloaded the CD's and a 1" long circlular plastic wrapper came out folded over the first CD. I showed it to them and they sent it back with the old unit.
I now have replaced the Shaker with the Pioneer BT8000F and use only my Ipod. 10 times better sound then the Shaker and no CDs to mess with!
(it doesnt play Hip Hop, rap or CRAP)!
