The aftermarket might be the way to go. I just bought ONE HID for $815 from Ford for my GT500 front end conversion. Standard GT HID's are $810 EACH. That doesn't include whatever else you might need for the conversion. I remember it being a $525 option on my '08.

Hmmm well I can go to Steeda.com and buy a set for 895...I was just hoping I could get Ford to install them to stay within the warranty and resellability as well as be able to sell the stock heads to get some money back...

Interesting...the Steeda Kit contains no ballasts...I thought they were a must for HIDs? Obviously I am wrong....

Yeah, thats one of the big draws for me. I don't like having ballasts hanging out all over my underhood. Also, I believe water getting in the ballasts is a reason for many problems that people face with the HIDs...

Yeah I have the Silverstars and the difference IMO is almost non-existent. The color of the light is whiter, but I don't think the brightness changes.

So back to my original question...has anyone here had a Ford dealership install OEM Ford HIDs on an 05-08 Mustang?
