Will 99-04 Rims fit on a s197?
I have 18" Fr500 on my car now but i am looking into getting some Mickey Thompsons for the track but i need a 17" wheel..I found the Fr500 in a 17" but it is not for our year cars, would i have a problem if i used this rim for drag racing??

i think it mainly depends on how wide you are going. with a standard 99-04 17x8 wheel, the rim should fit flush with the edge of the fender well. i would think anything wider (and non deep dish) would extend the wheel towards the middle and not away, so you should be ok going with a 17x9 (or 10 if they make it that wide)
so, theoretically, you should be fine using a new edge wheel

the offsets are different (05+ is +40mm and the 99-04 is +30mm, i think). basically, the hub on 99-04 is 30mm from the center of the wheel, and the 05+ hub is 40mm from the center, since the oem wheels are the same width, the edge of a 05+ would sit closer to the hub of the wheel than a 99-04 would (see diagram)

i made the diagram for more general purposes (i didn't mean to make it look like you didn't understand). there have been a lot of people with this question, and i thought i would try to help them out. i would guess problems would start if the wheel was wider than oem specs (10 inch, or a deep dish)
